Louenhide is an Australian fashion and accessories brand for modern women seeking distinctive style. Their goal is to create beautiful and functional handbags that don’t break the bank.

Louenhide teamed up with Megantic towards the tail end of 2021, providing the SEO agency a short window to conduct a feasibility study and extensive website research to guide their upcoming website restructure. This unique format of a “trial period” worked out in both company’s favour and are now strongly connected in a mutually-beneficial partnership.

 

A runway rundown to positive trends that keep on growing

For Louenhide, this journey has been truly extraordinary. Goals were set high, and were not only met but exceeded. Let’s delve into the highlights:

Objectives:

  • Mitigate the impact of the migration from WooCommerce to Shopify
  • Return total keyword trend into growth within first 6 months post-migration and increase by 100% during the months after
  • Increase organic new users by 30%
  • Increase organic transactions and revenue by 50%

  • The migration from WooCommerce to Shopify was successful

Looking good in every situation

Like all successful projects with Megantic, Louenhide’s journey began with three key stages. In the first stage, Megantic performed extensive customer research into Louenhide’s target market to understand growth opportunities and challenges. Through this understanding, three primary challenges emerged: growing post-migration to Shopify, expanding their market reach, and a competitive market. Once these were addressed, key data showed that positive results were on the way.

 

  • Challenge 1: Recovering AND achieving growth post-migration to Shopify.

Solution: Louenhide’s product page URLs, metadata, and H1 tags had not been optimised before work commenced with Megantic. This meant there was an opportunity to improve the website’s structure and keyword targeting during the migration. Megantic implemented their award-winning pre-migration checklist strategy to ensure the new website was set up for success. This included optimising product page URLs, writing custom metadata for all website pages, and updating collection pages with targeted H1 tags.

 

  • Challenge 2: Expanding market reach despite a smaller range and crawl budget.

Solution: Louenhide’s website included over 90 Filter Collections, none of which were indexable due to the Shopify platform’s native dynamic filter URLs. To address this issue, Megantic devised an in-house custom meta script. This is one of Megantic’s most exciting creations. The script enables Shopify websites to make their filter collection pages indexable and accessible by search engines like Google. As a result, Louenhide has achieved higher rankings for long-tail keywords which are more likely to lead to conversions.

 

  • Challenge 3: Reaching a tough and competitive market.

Solution: Before working with Megantic, the website was focused on reaching broad keywords like “bags”, “online shopping”, “accessories” and “wallets”. It was competing with every business selling any type of women’s accessories. The Megantic team performed an extensive feasibility study and corrected Louenhide’s website structure. Now, the highly relevant and niche keywords that can be targeted have been identified and prioritised.
